Advice needed on weatherproof videocameras for all-day footage.

I'm helping a colleague conduct a research project in a remote international setting. We are trying to figure out how to use a videocamera to document work activities in a place that is subject to intermittent torrential rains. The work at this site typically lasts 10 hours or more, but is confined to a small area. So there are options for setting up the camera on a tripod.

The video quality does not need to be great -- what you see on security cameras would be adequate for what we're trying to accomplish. Data storage is a modest concern, mostly in terms of storing months of footage on a single hard drive.

At the end of the day, it would also be very helpful if we were able to easily transfer the video files from the camera to the computer & hard drive, perhaps with a USB connection or microSD.

Other friends have suggested wildlife video cameras like the kind you see in the link below. Most of these seem to be motion-activated, though, and I'm not sure they would work for all-day videorecording.

Do you have suggestions?
